BDneals steamers are excellent, and for about 4 years or so set the standard for Steam power in Trainz (Prowler's before him). But K&L has really taken off. These are old shots from TS12, but suffice to say I think everyone should treat themselves to at least one K&L Steamer:I can't really say much more. If a pic is worth a thousand words. All shots taken of C&O 4-8-4 Greenbriar '614'/'Chessie Safety Express' set. Not K&L's Latest & Greatest, but still a damn good set. I like all of their stuff, but be aware the older it gets the less polished it is.
Starting with the NKP stuff though its all pretty uniform.Enjoy-Falcus. Jointed rail offers a Reading Camelback and a SP GS-4 steam locomotive as freeware they also have anthor Southern PAcific Steam Locomotive as Payware. As far as K&L steam locomotive try the two PRR locomotives from their freeware page and see the quality for yourself. Ben Neal and Subpar Productions have some great stuff My personal favorite here being his 0-8-0. Also you might also look at the Stuff the Trainboi1 has on both the DLS and over at trainz forge, and lastly Togog has some great narrow gauge (mostly 3ft) on the DLS. I've been checking out the entire DLS, and many various 3rd party sites for content. I need to know who's got the best models for American Steam, preferably heavy equipment I would also appreciate good switching locos for yard-work.P.S.
Has anyone purchased from 'K&L Trainz'? I love the inventory / images, but haven't gone ahead and bought anything yet. Just want to know how well the content works and stuff.I know many, here are three sites that are popular by most that do high quality steam locomotives. The first is K&L Trainz , they do a lot of awesome american steam locomotives for payware. Here are some examples:Chesapeake and Ohio J3a 4-8-4Frisco T-54 4-8-2Canadian National G-16-a 4-6-0The second is Jointed Rail (NOTE: You need a account to access their freeware.), they do two freeware steam locomotives, a Southern Pacific GS-4 and a Reading Camelback.
